About the event

Green Fire CrossFit proudly hosts the annual MURPH Challenge, a tribute workout that honors Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who sacrificed his life in Afghanistan in 2005. This challenging workout not only tests your physical and mental limits but also commemorates a true American hero. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a CrossFit newbie, MURPH offers a profound opportunity to push yourself and reflect on the virtues of courage and sacrifice.

  • Time: Multiple Heats 
  • 7:30, 8:30 & 9:30 AM & 10:30 AM Kids heat
  • Location: Green Fire CrossFit
  • Registration Fee: 

We will not make Murph shirts for our gym. Please visit the and order a t-shirt there. The proceeds go to the foundation in his honor. We feel his foundation deserves the t shirt traffic and funding.

We will collect $10 per person donations that we will send to that foundation as well.

Workout Breakdown:

  • 1-mile Run
  • 100 Pull-ups
  • 200 Push-ups
  • 300 Squats
  • 1-mile Run
  • All with a 20 lb. vest or body armor (optional)

Who Was Lt. Michael P. Murphy?Lt. Murphy was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery during a reconnaissance mission in Afghanistan. He is remembered for his leadership, courage, and dedication to his team. This workout, often completed on Memorial Day, embodies the spirit of service and sacrifice.
